Starting off on a honest note it is absolutely beyond impressive for any car to be able to shave 5 seconds off a lap time on any track let alone the most infamous of them all the Nurburgring. The Project One is a street legal F1 car for the low price of $3 million, if you can get your hands on one. The car is truly a one of kind machine with 2 electric motors, one for the front and one for the rear, and also features a turbo charged v6. Total engine power output is over 1000hp. But I want to talk about should this record hold up? Or better yet should the previous record holding Porshe 911 GT2RS feel any true defeat?

The problem I have with record is I simply believe the project one is in an entirely different class of car than the others. The 911GT2RS costs somewhere around half a million(500k), a fraction of the Project One price tag of 3 million if you can even secure a car. The car has some of the most sophisticated technology created imense amounts of downforce and airflow, technology you will not find at these price levels. Mercedes put F1 technology including the engine in a car thats supposed to compete with supercars. The AMG project one is a hyper car end of discussion.

In reality the true Nurburgring Holder is the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series. The Porshe 911 GT2RS that beat the Black Series used aftermarket parts from MR which should not really count since it was not factory.
